Hezbollah in Israel strategic culture

According to theorical researchers of the concept, strategic culture is defined as the total of the emotions, thoughts and patterns of behavior that affecting security strategy themes of countries in their deccion making process. In this thesis, after mentioned the theoretical content of the concept of strategic culture at first, it has been determined sources of Israeli strategic culture that identified via geostrategy, history, religion and and public perception lenses, and characteristic behavior patterns that are directly related to these sources. Secondly, it is discussed that how the characteristic behavior patterns in Israeli strategic culture affected the decision making processes, in the creation phase of security strategies that related the fight themes against Hezbollah of decision-makers especially prime minister, ministry of defense, chief of staff, military intelligence, ministry of foreign affairs and other related institutions, in the context of the relevant period. The research includes Israeli military operations to Lebanon since Hezbollah was established, and finally questions the causes of the strategic failure of Israel in 2006, through strategic culture. For all that, after the Second Lebanese War and specially Syrian Civil War that resulted in an important part of the Hezbollah elements shifting to Syria, between both sides, it has been lasting a relative silence in the region for a long time.
