Productivity analysis of psychological consultancy services in Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality

Psychological Counselling Service provided by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in preventive mental health field, contributesvastly in prevention of mental health problems and also improvement of individuals. Therefore it is important to assess the efficacy and effectiveness of these services by using a corporal perspective in order to improve the quality of the service. Measurement of the productivity of İBB Psychological Counseling Service, which plays an important role in mental health area, can give an oppurtunity for appropriate planning, rational decision making, identification and solution of the problems timely. This study attempts to assess the service productivity by comparing the completion of thearapeutic process and dropping out aspects, and investigating the distribution of the clients to the centers and psychologists that provides service, respectively. In addition, to assess the efficiency of the service, the results of the "Patient satisfaction survey" was compared with the clients' expectancy and perceptions. The sample of this study consists of clients who benefited from IBB Psychological Counseling Services in the period 2018-2019. Among them %42,8 of clients stil continue recieveing the service or completed the Process and %57,2 of clients dropped out. Results show that drop outs are mainly consisted of females, clients over 18 years of age, married, unemployed and primary school graduates. Positive expressions of Patient satisfaction survey's results were evaluated and patient satisfaction was determined as 92.8% in 2018, and 88.1% in 2019. As a result, it seems that completed the process or dropped out therapy doesnot affect patient satisfaction.
