Examination of high rise office buildings i̇n i̇stanbul throuhg the sustainable architectural principles

As a reason of this, the green buildings have an important role on the growth of cities as a sustainable urban. The Sustainable Building within the framework lifecycle can be defined that is a design which includes social and environmental responsibilities, is convenient of the climatic and local conditions of the region, as a sensitive structure with ecosystem because of the usage of natural and waste material and directed to renewable energy sources. There are some advantages of sustainable buildings which enrich the urban life and it differs from other buildings with these aspects. These are can be summaries as minimizing the environmental damage to the construction site, Re-use of recycled waste material generated by excavation, usage of the renewable energy, energy saving by natural lighting usage, reducing of the heating and cooling demands by thermal insulation, presenting more comfortable, healthy and efficient spaces to the users. The aim of the thesis is evaluating the office buildings with the sustainability criteria and putting forth the principles of sustainable architecture by examining three office building in İstanbul. In this study, identified the characteristics of sustainability with research on ecological environment, office buildings definition, historical, functional and structural developments were informed and the main criteria for sustainability were discussed. rulacaktır.
