Abstract (EN)

Besides eating/drinking something, Food-Beverage Comsuming Places are such places that the people intercourse socially. The objectives of this thesis are to explain the principles of artificial lighting in Food-Beverage Comsuming Places in order to create a better atmosphere for eating/drinking activity and social intercourse, and to study the artificial inner lighting of two restaurants in Istanbul and to present design alternatives for both of them.This thesis consist of 5 main sections.In section 1, the objective is determined by the means of introduction.In section 2, the history and general characteristics of Food-Beverage Comsuming Places are touched on.In section 3, the Lighting Criteria and their facts which are to be considered in Food-Beverage Comsuming Places are discussed.In section 4, the contemporary light sources and the ways how they are to be considered in Food-Beverage Comsuming Places are examined.In section 5, ?Pucci Plus Restoran&Cafe-Bar? in Gümüşsuyu/İstanbul and ?Günaydın Restoran? in Bostancı/İstanbul are examined through the criteria which are referred in Section 3, and a Lighting Design is made for them in order to better the inner lighting.Keywords: Food-Beverage Comsuming Places, Restaurant, Cafe, Artificial Lighting
