Comparison of the triage applications between the second and third stage health institutions in public hospital association of İstanbul city Bakirkoy and Çekmece districts

Triage, is a health system that aims to prioritize the healthcare among sick and wounded and enables utilizing the healthcare services resources efficiently. This study aims to find solutions to the deficiencies and problems in this area by consulting the doctors, nurses, paramedics and emergency technicians about the triage applications. After translating the Triage Decision Making Inventory to Turkish and its validity and reliability study, the questionnaire was applied to three second stage and three third stage health institutions, the data from 289 workers were collected, the frequency tables were constructed using SPSS, and the results from the analysis were interpreted based on the given answers. Statistically significant differences were found between the education levels, work experience, work classification of the workers, second and third stage workers, and between triage educated vs non-educated groups.
