Abstract (EN)
Palaces are one of the most significant instances of the Ottoman Civil Architecture.The Topkapı Palace constructed after the invasion of Istanbul is an instanceof civil architecture that occurs to the mind at first. The Topkapı Palace is an extensive union of buildings which includes almost every stage of the Ottoman architect within its construction. Towers are the most attractive examples of this union of buildings. The Revan Tower that is in the garden of the palace and has an octagon plan, is an instance as a graceful tower in this construction.It is possible to se the qualities civil architecture and ornament elements of the 17th century in harmony in the Museum of Topkapı Palace, The Revan Tower. The decorative elements, for instance, chisel, flagging, tile and the other decorations that were embellished after the rough work of construction was completed, does not draw attention more than one another. The fact that they are in equilibrium and harmony is remarkable.The tiles of the Tower has the most attractive qualities of color and composition of the Kütahya tiles of the 17th century. It is seen that tiles of the Tower, which is used for the decoration of the walls of inside and outside, have not lost their alluring brightness within the centuries till today. The plans of composition is arranged as symmetrical, uniting and fre bulletin boards. Istanbul Topkapı Palace, The Revan Tower was restored by the Project of the Topkapı Palace, Palace Buildings during the years of 1998, 1999, 2000. Istanbul Topkapı Palace, The Revan Tower has the most charming instances of the Classic Ottoman Architecture and the Art of Tile.Key word: The Ottoman Architecture, the Turkish Tile Art, Tiles of the Revan Tower Characteristic Qualities
