Özet (EN)
The literature of a society is one of the important indicators reflecting the people, values, hopes, life, past and present of this society, and its projections about tomorrow. Those who make up the world of literature are authors and readers; as well as publishing houses, editorial and technical teams in the publishing house, printing houses, bookstores, distribution companies, mass media. The function of each is unique and one cannot replace the other. Together they form a "literary world" which provides the most intimate knowledge of society. This research as well, in addition to looking at how authors and literary figures relate to each other, where they come together especially in 2000s; examines the author-publishing house, author – reader, author – media relations within the framework of changing and developing communication technologies. Since it is necessary to look at the past in order to understand the present, Tanzimat period author–publisher–reader–press / publicity relations have been handled within the scope of the thesis study, thus the changes and developments in the literary world have been conveyed. Within the scope of the field study conducted using direct observation, participant observation and in-depth interview technique, a wide panorama of the world of literature has been provided from the 1980s to the present through interviews with twenty two people between 11 March 2017 and 16 October 2018. These twenty-two people are the authors and literary figures who have contributed to the literature world for many years and have witnessed the important events of their time, as well as young authors and literary figures whose works have been published from leading publishers of the literary world and have received various literary awards that have retained their importance from past to present. In the thesis, the concepts of "network society", public space", "global village" and communication theories are utilized to understand the changing and newly forming relationships in the world of literature from past to present. Key words: Literary world, centers of literature, Istanbul as cultural center, writers, literary figures
