İstanbul University Rare Works Library Nekty 03334 numbered poetry journal [1b-111a](Review, text, MESTAP)

Journals have attracted attention in our manuscript libraries for their diverse content, have been in demand since their inception, and have become the predominant collections in terms of type. Journals are important sources of Turkish literature, providing us with access to a variety of information on Classical Turkish literature. A journal is a collection of texts compiled by a compiler, often containing verse pieces and occasionally prose. Their content is entirely based on the editor's aesthetic sensibility, and they are also significant works for preserving a wide range of poets and poems. Compilers often identify common themes for the texts they compile. This creates works that share the same subject, verse form, or genre. The poetry collection "Mecmuʿa-i Kasâid ve Gazeliyât-ı Müntehâbât" (Mecmuʿa-i Kasâid ve Gazeliyât-ı Müntehâbât) registered in the Istanbul University Rare Works Library under the number "03334" is one of our meticulously organized manuscripts that prioritizes uniformity of verse form. Like its counterparts, this manuscript boasts a diversity of poets, forms, and genres. The magazine, which does not contain any information about its compiler, consists of 222 pages. We studied pages 1b-111a of the journal. This section contains a total of 87 poems by 16 poets. Most of the recorded poems were selected from the odes written to state officials. The poet whose odes were given the most space in the magazine is Bosnian Sabit. The subject of our study is the transcribed text of the poetry magazine registered at Istanbul University Rare Works Library, number Nekty 03334, and its classification according to the Systematic Classification of Magazines Project (MESTAP).
