Foreign language teaching process is a multi dimensional process that resides in more than one compound. One of these compounds is the grammar rules. We can not ignore grammar rules in language teaching. In addition to turkish?s being in a new area in foreign language, some ignorance of grammatical problems maket his process harder. So,the aim of this study is to make people to learn foreign language easier by providing them grammatical rules in turkish. One of the problems in teaching turkish is the teaching of optative mood and imperative mood. In the books that are written according to traditional grammar rules, or in the books that are studied in public school, we can not find all inflections of optative mood ( second and third person) so the teaching process becomes slow.So in our study, the definition of optative and imperative moods is made according to traditional grammar rules, their usage is shown and it is put forth that it is necessary to be taught with respect to communicative approach which is based upon meaning-structure-usage criterion. With this reason, in our study;first theoretical information is given about foreign language teaching and methods and approaches. On the basis of these theoritical knowledge and methods, in teaching of imperative and optative moods,it is come through that it is necessary to teach the structures of current language and a sample of Schedule has been given.
