The index of Istiklal newspaper (1918-1919

The pressn and publication movements had always been one of the unforgiven sources for researchers who wanted to survey the near history. It is possible to survey the press history in different fields from the Administrative Reforms Period to the National War incivding the Constitutional Monarchy Periods. The newspaper which we chose as our research field had been the İstiklal Gazetesi which was a part of the Ottoman Empire press in the Armistice Period. The Armistice, namely includes the period the Mondros Ceasefire was signed with the winner states, after the Ottoman Empire had been defeated, after the first world war. Especially in the Armistice Period as we call, the Indepence Newspaper which was important pres and publication source, while at was supporting the Costantinople Goverment?s coherent policy following, it tried to give support even if was less in the periods, the National War took shape slowly and slowly. The hicest example, we saw the İstiklal Gazetesi responded aganist the occupancy even if it was limited, was that the meetings in the Sultan Ahmet Ring against the occupancy in the fifteenth of Maay nineteen and nineteen after İzmir was occupied by the Greek armies. The speeches of a lot of speaker such as Halide Edip Adıvar in the meeting were transfered to newspaper pages line by the İstiklal Gazetesi. After the İstiklal Gazetesi?s publication life?s nearly two hundred forty number was surveyed in 1918 in December, we did our reaserch according to index prodecure for reasearches benefit with the news day, number, page number and the summary of the news- with the ones in the Ottoman orders, the relations of the Ottoman with other countries, the countries which weren?t in the border of the Ottoman and the treaties which would make the defeated countries signed after the first world war- interwieved with Paris Peace Conference part so with this point it will be a good service to the researchers and easiness for everybody who will study on the İstiklal Gazetesi.Key Words: Istiklal Newspaper, Index, News, Articles
