Quali̇fi̇cations of the occupational safety specialalist according to employers and employer representatives

Occupational health and safety culture, which has developed in the world and in our country in recent years, is a branch that provides both the value given to people and the continuity of production. Since the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 came into force in our country, it has ceased to be a commercial issue and has become a new branch of law that includes only its own subjects. Providing a safe working environment is ensured by the complete fulfillment of health and safety measures. The occupational safety specialist, who takes part in eliminating these deficiencies, has duties. In this study, a research was conducted on how an occupational safety expert profile should be from the perspective of employers and employers' representatives. Interviews were conducted with employers and employer representatives in Malatya city, which has been developing in production over the years, using semi-structured interview technique. These questions were asked to the fifteen business people reached and their perceptions were measured. As a result of the interviews with the employer and employer's representatives, answers were sought for questions such as the skills of the occupational safety specialist, what she should know, how she should act, and what are her expectations from the occupational safety specialist. This Study not only measured the expectations of the business people from the occupational safety expert, but also guided those who want to work as an occupational safety expert. It has revealed what the society expects from the occupational safety specialist. As a result of the study, suggestions were made to facilitate the employment of experts while providing occupational safety expertise training.
