Abstract (EN)

Countryman means the people to be lived in the same places both in rural and city is a way of relationship which is commonly used by the people who migrates to cities and it takes place in some studies even it is not related to the main idea. This kind of relatinships seems closer to traditional among modern and traditional, but closer to rural among city and rural. For this reason countryman relations that are majorly thought to be disappear easily in some time, form groups in big cities.Fellow countryman unities, whose main target is to settle down and to be a citizen and which is socialized rapidly or in time, are organized groups. New citizens who try to keep their cultural identities with their norms brought from their hometowns and base on solidarity to protect their own cultural shock, conciliate the old and the new values in time. The individuals who try to remain standing in the course of time cause a new formation of a city culture which is peculiar to themselves. Whether this culture sometimes provokes tension with the settled city culture, it forms the characteristics of todays cities. In this adaption period, insufficiency of urbanization, city?s socio-economical structure and inefficiency of the associations in solving immigrants problems are not able to have enough effect in the urbanızation of the individuals. The immigrants have relations mainly based on solidarity among themselves. One of the most important reason of this soldarity is cause they have to stand alive and live in better conditions than they have before; because city is a place where doesn?t have any kind of similarities with their hometown and have a lot of strange elements. Consequantly, they have to be in touch with the ones who come from their own culture in order not to be alone in this adaptation. So these people who come from same place, town, city or region get together in big cities. The position which is called ? to come together in heap? in most of the studies is a natural reaction of the compatriots that stand to gether in the cities. The dense migration experiencein İzmir lives is changing effected by the variation and revolution in Turkey. However, each city is shaped by its own dilemmas and genuine stipulations in the changing circumstances of the country. This research realized by focusing on 22 immigrant quarters of İzmir, tries to achieve the effect of fellow countryman solidarity on city culture in a sample area which was selected according to some criterions.
