A case study on the analysis of the consumer behavior towards organic foods in Izmir

Increasing industrialization and the rate of translation to profit, constituting a big problem on public health and environment. Many methods are tried for increasing agricultural production and meeting demands. These methods are applied in non-natural ways and tried to be invented. Agriculturally, many methods are also tried for increase yield of unit area. Meeting demands is the principle. But while applying these methods; chemical inputs and artificial fertilizers threats public health and causes environmental hazards. Organic agriculture term was formed at this point.Organic agriculture is a production method which is not used chemical substances and every stage of the organic agriculture is certificated and under control. Organic agriculture has many advantages as many as disadvantages. These disadvantages reflect to consumer demand and affects purchasing behaviours. In this thesis, consumers purchasing behaviours have been examined related to organic foods. As purchasing analyzing, it have been searched consumers? point of view related to organic agriculture, organic foods and products. For learning the answers, it havebeen used survey method. The aim of choicing this method is research base to be towards to consumers and it is more accredited to reach consumers by this method.The demand for healthy and safety food products will have increased rapidly in future years. It will be useful to be informed consumers about their choice to be supported with new solutions and methods in accordance with conscious. In addition, it must have been specialized organic foods? quality, benefits for health, nutritional value instead of its price.In the light of the foregoing, it have been waiting consumers? purchasing behaviours to be more clear and navigable. In this way organic market will be brisk, healthty risks will be decreased and health of environmental, plants and human will be protected mainly.
