Abstract (EN)

Located at the southeastern shores of European continent, surrounded by Mediterrenean, Agean and Adriatic seas, the Balkanian Peninsula had been attacked and occupied throughout the history while maintaining its importance. Turkish presence in the region, which has been a residential area time to time for Turks, first initiated with the Huns, carried on by Turkish tribes migrated from Central Asia, and was at its zenith during the Ottoman rule which lasted nearly 500 years.Bulgaristan is one of those countries having a large Turkish population. Due to the emigration provoked by the constant wars during the late period of the Ottoman Empire, the Turkish population in Bulgaria tended to decrease; and as a result of the assimilation policies subsequent to the foundation of the Republic of Turkey, a large influx of immigrants from Bulgaria to Turkey had taken place gradually. Through the instrument of succeeding settlement policies, immigrants who are settled in various regions of Turkey or can find a settlement with their own means, started to get oriented to their new living spaces. During this process, immigrants adopted certain methods in order to accommodate to the society in which they live by developing social dialogue.In this paper, NGOs and mass media are to be scrutinized under the heading of migration, immigrant and social dialog networks and the reader will be acquainted with the status of Bulgarian Turks in consideration of various international documents. The history of Bulgarian Turks and the migrations encountered since from the foundation of Bulgaria will be summarized and economic, social, legal conditions of immigrants who live in Sarniç of the Gaziemir county of Izmir will be put forth.
