Abstract (EN)

Many companies have been interested in the Japanese management style, with success achieved up to now, became an economical power that can compete with USA right after they had sustained a defeat in the World War II. Many companies that would like to apply these management style that carried Japanese people to the success, faced many problems because of the characteristics unique to each country such as social & cultural differences, demographic structure , geographical differences, religion & education and these companies could not be successful while applying Japanese management style. It became important to investigate the management style, emerging from the Japanese social structure & the techniques that Japan learned from USA, in Toyota Turkey which is originated from Japan ,but located out of Japan since it provides an expansion to the subject. In this manner, the questions which this research , ?Basic Properties of Japanese Management Style & an Investigation about Toyota Turkey? aims to answer are: a) What is the applicability of the basic properties of Japanese management style in Toyota Turkey? b) Is there any differentiation in the properties of Japanese management style that is applied in Toyota Turkey? In this study, while looking for answers for these questions, it is also aimed to make some inferences about the reasons of the applicability & differentiation. Since it is not allowed to make questionnaires in Toyota Turkey, this method could not be used. Regarding Toyota Japan applications, information is collected through the negotiations with Japanese coordinators & employees that had been worked in Japan. Besides, negotiations & evaluations were made with many employees, working in different departments of the plant with different status. Beyond that, observations are made & it is aimed to determine the differences of application.
