Being for other in Jean Paul Sartre

This thesis is in the field of Existential Philosophy and aims to examine the existentialist philosopher Jean Paul Sartre's concept of Being for the Other. In the first chapter, after a brief introduction to the history of Existentialism, an introduction to the subject is made by defining the meaning of Existence and Existentialism. In the second chapter, the problem of the Other is discussed in the light of the concepts of theist and atheistic existentialists. In the third chapter, Sartre's existentialism is included and the idea of Being for the Other is criticized. This thesis aims to seek answers to questions such as what does Being for Others mean and what does it mean, and can Being for Other offer a solution to today's current problems. The main subject of the thesis is being and the meaning of being, being and existence, the whatness of existence and value of being. The fundamental issue is human existence. The main problem of the thesis is the possibility of living together. The presences's relationship with the other has been criticized. In addition, the study focused on Sartre's thesis "Existence Comes Before Essence" and the issue of freedom was examined around this idea. In the conclusion, the concept is associated with the terms identity and personality and it is claimed that a person cannot determine an identity on his own. It has been tried to explain that people can sustain their existence by establishing relationships with others, by keeping the problem of living together on the agenda. It has been discussed that man is alone and alien in the world. The subject is limited to the problem of Being for the Other. The main hypothesis of this thesis is that the thesis of Being for the Other can be a solution to current problems.
