Özet (EN)

The impact of the perception of beauty on society, which has been going on for centuries, is undeniable. People's desire and expectation to be beautiful affects the psychology of the individual and the society unconsciously and causes trauma. Some artists have managed to bring the traumatic situations to light through their works. Jenny Saville, who draws attention with her reaction to the concept of beauty, which is one of the biggest problems of our age, whose influence is growing, which forces people to be beautiful and leads to depression when it is not realized, holds a mirror up to society with her works that deal with the traumatic situations that the individual experiences or is affected by. Within the scope of this thesis, the concepts of Trauma and Beauty were discussed, qualitative research methods were used and data and source analyzes were examined. Focusing on the traumatic effects of the concept of beauty on people, the phenomenon of trauma in her paintings and her view of beauty in her paintings were examined in the context of trauma, with the example of Jenny Saville, one of the important artists of our age, interpreted by the descriptive analysis method.
