Abstract (EN)
In the fields of management and human resources, the attendance has widely been accepted as one of the essential parameters for measuring performance and productivity of employees. In order to increase the performance and productivity, the businesses had an inclination to develop policies for assuring their employees' attendance at first. However, it has been clearly observed that the presenteeism, as and employee behavior decreasing the employee's commitment to her work and to the organization by negatively effecting her behaviors; has countermeasures for businesses as much as the absenteeism. In this context, the researches about reducing the presenteeism which is more indistinguishable than the absenteeism has become more important. In order to reduce the presenteeism, it is essential to analyze its reasons. As they have been asserted in the previous researches, the most substantial reasons of presenteeism can be named as employees' commitment to work, their organizational commitment, workaholism and the fear of job-loss. As being a dynamical sector and emphasizing the safety of its customers, the sector of aviation requires for its employees both mentally and physically to be ready for the work. The very same principle constitutes the perspective of this research focusing on the presenteeism of flight attendants. Moreover, the effects of flight attendants' viii commitment to work and their fear of job loss will be analyzed in order to contribute to the aviation sector. As a result, it will be claimed that the presenteeism is highly correlated to the high motivations of flight attendants and their anxiety about the loss of job-related resources and opportunities.
