Özet (EN)
Researches on wireless power transfer (WPT) based on Ampere and Faraday's laws which are parts of Maxwell's equations for electromagnetic fields, have been increasingly intensifying due to advances in semiconductor, control and material technologies. WPT systems have started to be used in many areas such as non-contact charging electrical vehicles, consumer electronics, biomedical implants, wireless sensors and data transmission. Mutual inductance calculation is of great importance for WPT systems operating on the principle of inductive coupling. This thesis presents a new analytical method that calculates the mutual inductance between two non-identical n-sided planar polygonal coils located in arbitrary position in 3D space. Coils used in this method may be the same or differ from each other in terms of size, geometric shape and turns number. In addition, all lateral and angular misalignment cases that may occur when calculating the mutual inductance between these coils are also considered. Based on Stokes Theorem, instead of using the magnetic flux density vector, the magnetic vector potential (MVP) is used to reach the required magnetic flux in the calculation of the mutual inductance. A single analytical solution function that can calculate the mutual inductance between two coils of any polygonal shape and position in 3D space a simple manner and very short time duration is obtained by performing difficult mathematical operations through MVP. The novel analytical method used within the scope of this thesis was implemented on ten different coil systems. The results obtained from this method were compared with the results of other studies in the literature, analysis results obtained from Ansys Maxwell program and experimental results. These comparisons have proven validity of the new analytical method and shows that this method works with a very high degree of accuracy. This thesis on mutual inductance calculations is a very comprehensive study in this field, as it gives accurate results despite lateral and angular misalignments in the 3D space between coils that differ in terms of number of turns, shape and size.
