The mainaim of the study is to evaluate the passages of classic literature in the light ofsemantic data. In this way, it is aimed to put forward new points of wiev on theanalysis of the passages of classic literature. in the study, first of all the phrases suchas language meaning comprehension semantics and semantic frame were explained.The theories formed by means of these phrases were applied to Kadi BurhaneddinDivani. The phrass and terms explained by means of the modern definitions.Nevertheless the old equivalents of the phrases and terms were also me ntionedshortly. While investigating the Iyrics the methods of classic Iyric analysis wereemployed as well.Key words: Language, meaning, semantic, semantic frame, Kadi BurhaneddinDivani.
