Kâdi Abdulcebbar's understanding of hadith

Undoubtedly, hadiths are one of the two main sources of Islam. Therefore, the correct understanding and living of this religion depends on the correct understanding of the hadiths. Different sects, schools and scholars have developed various views, perspectives and methods in understanding, comprehending, interpreting and approaching different types of hadith. These different points of view have also been the origin of many conflicts of fiqh and creed. For this reason, it is important that these points of view are put forward and comprehended correctly in terms of considering the hadiths in the correct way. In this thesis, we tried to reveal the hadith understanding of Qadi Abdulcebbar, who is one of the most important sheikhs of the Mu'tazila sect. Qadi Abdulcebbâr is one of the last great representatives of the Basra school of the Mu'tazila sect. In terms of being a Mu'tazilite, he was more prominent in the fields of kalam and tafsir. However, Qadi also made significant studies in the field of hadith. There is also a hadith book called 'al-Emâlî'. He followed a different path from the hadithists in understanding and interpreting the hadiths by putting the mind to the fore because of being Mu'tazilite. The fact that he was a theologian also caused him to be more interested in the texts of the hadiths, unlike the hadiths. We can say that he looks at the hadiths from the perspective of a Mu'tazilite theologian. Also, he has a unique point of view in understanding and interpreting the Qādi hadiths and has made important contributions in this field.
