Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out in 2018 in greenhouse of Agricultural Application and Research Center of Tokat Gaziosmanpasa University. Two different strawberry cultivars ('Sweet Charlie', 'Camarosa') in the study carried out using 4 different doses (0, 6, 12 and 24 mg Cd kg-1) cadmium (Cd) was applied to the plants. At the end of the study, the effects of increasing Cd applications on some growth and stress parameters were investigated. According to the obtained results, it has increased the dry matter yields of both strawberries cultivars with Cd applications in increasing doses. At the same time, with increasing doses of Cd applications, a significant increase in green parts of Cd concentrations of strawberries was observed. In the application of control of Camarosa cultivar, the concentration of Cd in green component 0.153 mg kg-1 increased to 2.893 mg kg-1 in Cd24 dose and the application of control of Sweet Charlie cultivar, the concentration of Cd in green component 0.298 mg kg-1 increased to 3.596 mg kg-1 in Cd24 dose. The total phenol content in green component of the 'Camarosa' variety was higher compared to the 'Sweet Charlie' cultivar with increasing doses of Cd applications, whereas the total antioxidant content in green component of 'Sweet Charlie' was higher than the 'Camarosa' cultivar. The results showed that the increasing application of Cd applications did not cause a significant change in the total phenol and antioxidant content of green component with the growth performance of both strawberry culvivars.
