Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between psychological resilience and dispositional hope of women receiving shelter services from 6 women shelters affiliated to the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services (MoFLSS) in Ankara and Istanbul. In addition, this study aims to determine the socio-demographic characteristics of women receiving services in women's shelters, the reasons for application to women's shelters, their experiences in women's guesthouses and whether they are satisfied with the services they receive in the institution. The study group of the study consists of 100 women receiving shelter services in 6 women shelter houses of MoFLSS in Ankara and Istanbul. As the data collection tools; Information Form, Resilience in Midlife Scale and Dispositional Hope Scale were used. The age of 100 participants ranges between 18 and 59 years. 67% of the women were 35 years or younger and 35.5% were married before 18 years of age. It was found that 76% of 100 participants were primary or secondary school graduates, 91% were not working and 56% applied to a women's guesthouse due to violence. In addition, women receiving shelter service/support in women's shelters stated that they were satisfied with the services provided. In this study, it was found that women's psychological endurance was moderate and dispositional hope levels were above the medium. There is a significant, positive and Strong relationship relationship between psychological endurance and dispositional hopes of women receiving shelter services; psychological resilience of women increased as their hopes increased. In addition it was found that psychological resilience and dispositional hope levels of women receiving shelter services did not show a significant difference in terms of the variables such as age, marital status, marriage decision, education level, reason for application to women shelter homes and duration of service in women shelter homes. The fact that violence causes similar traumatic effects for primary school graduate or undergraduate graduate women; It can be stated that the provision of short-term services in women's shelters is not sufficient to make a difference in terms of psychological resilience and hopes, and in this context, long-term, psychosocial and economic strengthening and rehabilitating social service activities are needed. It is thought that increasing the effectiveness of the support services provided in women's shelter houses will be effective in terms of adapting the lives of the women trying to cope with the negative effects of violence and the challenging aspects of life and increasing the quality of their lives.
