The effect of social aids in women's struggle for hegemonia: The example of Gaziantep

The biggest beneficiaries of the social aid of women in the world and Turkey is known to form. For this reason, the effect of social aids on women's gaining economic and therefore social power, the place and importance of benefits in their lives constitute the aim of the study. Semi-structured interview technique, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. Work; It includes seven women living in Gaziantep, receiving social assistance, married, and receiving. When we look at the qualitative researches and study findings, it can be said that women can't go beyond the patriarchal family relations patterns due to poverty and that the social benefits received don't have a visible effect on breaking male hegemony. In other words, since it isn't possible to develop a complete counter-hegemony by only receiving social assistance, it is seen that social assistance doesn't have a transformative / transformative effect on the hegemonic empowerment of women.
