Factors affecting women's participation in the labor force and sustainable development: The case of sub Saharan African countries

Recently, there has been a rise in research that disclose the variables influencing women's engagement in the workforce, which is the driving force behind sustainable development. To improve women's engagement in the workforce, it is necessary to first identify the variables that influence women's participation, particularly in developing nations. The study's goal is to identify the variables influencing women's labor force participation in sub-Saharan African nations and to explain how the identified factors impact women's labor force participation. The study model developed for this aim was evaluated using Panel Data analysis of 25 Sub-Saharan African nations whose data were received from the World Bank from 2002 to 2019. In this research of Sub-Saharan African nations, the findings revealed that per capita income, rule of law, savings rate, and population growth rate all had a statistically significant and negative influence on women's labor force participation.
