Participants were given a questionnaire with demographic information and a health belief model scale for Pap-smear test and cervical cancer developed by Akyüz et al. (2006). All scales were filled with face to face interview method. Findings: In this study total 194 people were included, of which 90 people were the case group and 104 people were the control group. According to statistical analyses, there was a significant difference between these two groups in terms of health belief model subscales. Results: When the difference between the health belief model subscales and the case-control groups was compared there was a significant difference in terms of sensitivity subscales. None of the demographic variables had a significant difference in the sensitivity subscales. The case group was found to be more sensitive to get the Pap-smear test. Among the people who had insurance and job, the sensitivity of this test was found to be high while the subscale of disability was low and the health motivation subscale was high.
