Factors affecting the hair design preferences of woman

Perception of hair which can be regarded as ornament of body men and women, had changed according to the concept of beauty and pleasure. From the early ages, the emotion of changing itself and becoming beautiful has been overwhelming in women.Within the scope of this study, in which aim is to determine factors affecting the design preferences of women's hair-as their ornament; factors affecting the women's hair design preferences are investigated from physical, psychological and socio-economical perspectives.Results are interpreted using ki-squared test and correlation analysis. Survey have been obtained from 1447 women selected randomly, living in seven regions and 28 cities with administratively connected villages and towns of Turkey, whose ages are in the range of 20 and 55. Results of the analysis are; in determining changing of the women's hair design preferences ; factors and percentages are respectively; physical factors 31,237%, psychological factors 22,280% and socio-economical factors 17,963%.Top ranked opinions are: among the physical factors ?colour of skin? is effective in hair colour preference; among the pschological factors ?change of behaviour of people around is changed according to the neatness of hair and dressing?; and finally among the socio-economical factors ?practical use of hair design?.According to the results of the investigation, suggestions are made to the training institutions, professionals and women to contribute to their hair design preferences.
