Sampling groups are choosen since in reaching the whole universe we will have some problems in time and finance. The fifty Carving Art Craftsmen participated in this sampling group of research. In this research the questionnaire forms are applied to the craftsmen. The percentage and the frequency that found from these questionnaires are analyzed. The result of this research seemed that because of the financial reasons the carving art which is a traditional art of the Kahramanmaraş, the handicraft is becoming less common and the machinary working is becoming more common. The fact that it occupies more time and it does not atone for causes the number of people dealing with this art to decline. The machinary producing has important part in, quickens the production, decreasing the costs for the serial production, employs more workers with less money and effect of this increased the number of customers. The carving art craftsmen complain that they can not earn what they deserve and there in not enough solidarity between craftsmen. With declining of the customers and because of some economic problems the number of people dealing with this art is declining day by day. Although some productions are sent both abroad and different places in Turkey, since there is a demand to cheap productions the demand to machinery productions is increasing. And this situation causes the number of the handicraft workshops to decrease.Today the number of people dealing with this art is decreasing, almost no one maintains this traditional work. If both the government and the people dealing with this art do not take some precautions, this traditional wooden carving art which can not keep up with machinery production will be limited with works exhibited in museums.
