Abstract (EN)

It is not possible to understand the Turkish language structure, it?s progression and characteristics just by investigating the standartised written language which is accepted as an official language. Consequently researching and insvestigating the local dialect brought light to many points of confusion. In addition dialect studies directly not only being a source of Turkish language but also contributes to many sciences indirectly like ethnology, ethimology, sociology, history and folklore.Although the studies in Turkiye Turkish dialect had recently increased however it has not reached to the desired level. In Turkiye there are residential places which are quite big though they are not regarded as cities. One of the cities that no dialect studies were undertaken is Kahramanmaras. Apart from a post- graduate thesis there has been no valuable academic study on Kahramanmaras dialect. Through the historical records the region?s known as particularly ?Turkmen home? encouraged us to study the region?s dialect. In this study we will bring out the results of our study undertaken in the Central dialect of Kahramanmaras. Information was collected from Kahramanmaras Central district and villages in this study. Used the narrow field management method and the data was recorded in detail with great care. In our study 70 texts were selected to be used as the main text. These texts were decoded by text translation technique and the results from these texts detailed vocal information investigated. In our study attention was given particularly on the phonological results of Kahramanmaras Central dialect. Also these phonological results were compared with the surrounding and the Anatolian dialects compared with the Kahramanmaras dialect, shown the smilarities and the different versions. Study consist of six chapters ?Introduction?, ?Kahramanmaras Central District?s General Characteristics?, ?Phonetic?, ?Conclusion and Recommendations?, ?Texts? and ?References?.
