Abstract (EN)
The planning of a broiler house in Kahramanmaraş province depends on the preference of growing systems, environmental climate, chicken age depends inside temperature and relative humidity, ventilation system, structure elements, and the construction materials availability. This study was conducted to analyse possible problems occurring during the growing periods in the year in the selected broiler houses, and bring to recommend potential solutions to these problems. A survey was used to determine the existing situation, regarding, rearing systems, environmental conditions, structural plans and managerial positions of broiler houses owned by broiler enterprises. In addition, the climatic parameters, which are effective in designing of broiler houses, were analysed. In order to provide adequate environmental conditions for a broiler house, heat and humidity balances were studied, and a broiler house with 10.000 broiler capacity was projected. In this project, considering the growing technique and the capacity of broiler house, changing the structural elements, construction materials, and their compositions developed eighteen different types of broiler houses. It was determined from the result of economic analysis that the type- 17 (with tiles as roof covering, 19° of roof angle, 5 cm thickness of roof insulation polystyrene foam, 10 % for window area, and 20 cm thickness of briquette wall) might provide the type with the lowest costs. Roof cost of broiler houses consisted of 60 % of total costs. For all of the types of broiler houses, the total cost of roof consisted of 12-13 % for covering material, 11-12 % for insulation material, and 77-81 % for wood cage. Substituting wood cage, which takes a majority part of roof, costs, with steal material made the cost of roof decreased by one-third. The economic analyses for the type- 17 project showed that 25 years of utility period with 35 % internal profitability ratio before financing the investment, the return period for the invested capital was 2.88 years; and the project was feasibly to apply. Keywords : Broiler, Environmental Controls in Broiler House, Broiler House Planning
