Quality costs and a case study at automobile industry

One of the most important issues for todays businesses is an efficient production with the effective use of business resources. The enterprise's resources are used at preproduction, in process and post-production after delivery of products to customers. With the increasing competition, the importance of efficient use of resources and quality costs have emerged. Quality Cost concept constitutes an important part among Management approaches like Total Quality Management. Businesses use resources efficiently employing the concept of quality costs; implement the necessary preventive actions for problems which emerge at design, production, sales and after sales or detect problems before they occur. The quality cost concept that is widely used by many businesses is a matter of contribution to the productivity. The aim of this thesis is to analyse an automobile company located at Cukurova region from the perspective of total quality management and quality costs. For this purpose, ?Case Study? method is used. The company?s data is collected by employing interviews with company authorities. The data obtained is then analyzed.
