Abstract (EN)

In this work, 1- (1-Benzofuran-2-yl) ethanone (S1) was synthesized first. Then, 1- (1-benzofuran-2-yl) -3- (4-hydroxyphenyl) prop-2-en-1-one (S2) synthesized by reaction of compound S1 with 4-hydroxy benzaldehyde. Compound S2 was acylated using chloroacetyl chloride and bromacetyl bromide to give 4- [3- (1-benzofuran-2-yl) -3-oxoprop- 1 -en- 1 -yl] phenylbromoacetate (S3) and 4-[3-( 1-benzofuran-2-yl) -3-oxoprop-1-en-1-yl] phenyl chloroacetate (S4). The synthesized (S3) and (S4) compounds were used as initiators in atom transfer radical polymerization. FT-IR, 1H and 13C-NMR techniques were used for characterization of the synthesized compounds. The thermal behaviors of the polymers were determined by DSC and TGA. The average molecular weights and polydispersities were measured by GPC. The dielectric behavior of polymers was examined as a function of frequency and associated with the structures. Finally, the photochemical properties of the synthesized polymers were measured by UV-VIS spectrophotometer.
