Abstract (EN)

Immnohistochemical Assesment of COX-2, ß-catenin and p53 of Colorectal Cancers and Colon Adenomas and Further Comperation with each other.Key words: Colorectal carcinoma, adenoma, COX-2, ß-catenin, p53, immünohistochemical assesment .İntroduction: Colorectal carcinoma is fourth common malignant tumor after the another major causes of deaths from the malign diseases lung carcinoma, prostat carcinoma and breast carcinoma. Colorectal carcinomas incidance rates increased with the diatery changes. In thıs study, clinical ,prognostic and histological properties of colorectal carcinomas and adenomas were investigated by using immunohistochemical markers COX-2, ß-catenin and p53.Methots: In this study, we investigated 77 colorectal carcinomas and 42 adenomatous polyps at Pathology Department of Düzce Univercity Medical School during the period from 1998 to 2008. In our study, 36 adenocarcinomas were well differantiated ,25 adenocarcinomas were moderately differantiated and 16 adenocarcinomas were poorly differantiated . 18 of the adenomas were tubular adenomas, 15 of the adenomas were tubulovillous adenomas , 9 of the adenomas were villous adenomas. Cases were classified according to WHO. General and prognostic features of colorectal carcinomas and adenomas were investigated by applying immunoreactivities, namely COX-2, ß-catenin and p53.Results: We found that, while the adenocarcinomas been poorly differantion,lympho-vascular invasion, perineurial invasion, necrosis and lymph node involvement seen frequently. In our study, adenocarcinomas were expressed COX-2 more than adenomasWe found that, poorly differantiated adenocarcinomas expressed COX-2 more than well differentiated and moderately differantiated adenocarcinomas. Thus we tought that COX-2 could be used bad prognostic factor for colorectal carcinomas.Adenocarcinomas and adenomas was expressed ß-catenin similarly. In our study, adenocarcinomas were expressed p53 more than adenomas . We found that, poorly differantiated adenocarcinomas expressed p53 more than well differentiated and moderately differantiated adenocarcinomas. Thus we tought that p53 could be used bad prognostic factor for colorectal carcinomas.
