Abstract (EN)

Objective: The study was conducted to examine the effect of the use of classified nursing interventions on the frequency of repeated hospitalizations in individuals with heart failure and to evaluate compliance with treatment. Method: The study was conducted experimentally with 96 (control group: 48; study group: 48) patients who were hospitalized with a diagnosis of heart failure and met the inclusion criteria. Routine nursing care was given to the control group patients without any intervention. Internationally accepted classified nursing interventions were applied to the patients in the study group. Patients in both groups were interviewed at the first, third and sixth months to evaluate their compliance with treatment and hospitalization frequency. Adherence to treatment was evaluated using compliance scales (Beliefs Regarding Medication Scale (IUHQ), Beliefs About Compliance with Diet Scale (DUHFS), and Beliefs About Individual Follow-up Scale (BHSRS). Results: There were statistically significant differences between the benefit and disability subscale scores of the beliefs about medication, diet, and individual compliance scale of the patients in the study group (p <0.05). Benefit subscale scores of the patients' compliance scales in the study group were higher than the benefit subscale scores of the patients in the control group. The frequency of rehospitalization of the control group was higher than the study group, and there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (p <0.05). Conclusion: Classified nursing interventions applied to patients with heart failure increase compliance with treatment and decrease the frequency of repeated hospitalizations.
