The exegesis of the surah al-Qamar and the day of judgement and destroyed peoples in its light

The 54th Surah of the Qur'an called Surat al-Qamar was revealed in Makkah and contains 55 ayats. The aim of thesis was to do the exegesis of the surat al Qamar and to research about the Apocalypse and the perished peoples mentioned in it. Our research is made up of three chapters. General information about Surat al-Qamar was given in the first chapter of the thesis. While doing this research we referred to the Holy Qur'an as a main source as well as other sources related to surat al-Qamar. In the second chapter it was worked on the explanation of some words' meanings and terminologies mentioned in the surah. Afterwards it was worked on the exegesis of the surah by using dirayah (rational) and riwayah (narrative) methods of tafsir (exegesis). As for the third chapter, it was aimed to explain the topics of the Apocalypse and the perished nations referring to the information obtained from the second chapter and other surahs in the Qur'an.
