A Sociological resarch on the conscious of the workers working in the public, institutions to have trade-unions; The sample of Şeker-İş trade union branch in Elazığ

This study titled «A Sociological Research on the Conscious of the Workers Working in the Public, Institutions to Have Trade-Unions; The Sample of Şeker-İş Trade Union Branch in Elazığ» is a field-study. The study has been carried out in order to prepare MA thesis. The purpose of the study was to put forward the conscious of the Union members to have a trade-union. First of all, the required research has been done about the trade-unions. Then, the attitude, consciousness (learning conscious) and activities of the members about the determined foundation-necessities of the unions and other purposes have been used in measuring (evaluating) their conscious about trade-unions. Thus, the data were obtained by interviewing the members and distributing questionnaires. Later, the data were interpreted by showing in tables. Under the light of the data, the following results were obtained in general: It was particularly identified that the first aim of having o trade- union for workers was about the rights and profits to be obtained from the employer. It was observed that the most important demands of the workers were the psycho-social ones. From the data, the interactiveness of the workers was found weak, but it was obuious that the management was strongly structured. It was concluded that the groupness in the union and the educational activities tended to increase the participation. It was also determined that the awareness of the union members belonging to teh socio-economical field outside the union was fairly good. The study has been concluded by identifying the results above.
