The risks and dangers threatening occupational health and safety of denture technicians working in puclic health institutions

Danger is the general word for conditions that might cause physical and mental damages, injuries and illnesses. On the other hand risk is the word for the possibility of the dangers and the results of these dangers. In the business life, employees face with different risks and dangers. Dental technicians working in prosthesis laboratories in public hospitals or Mouth and Dental Health Centers also face with risks and dangers. It is possible to observe a number of physical, chemical, biological, ergonomical and pyscho-social risks in the laboratories, where technicians of dental prosthesis perform their duties. The devices and other appliances that are used in an atmosphere of laboratories have considerably shifted with the global change and improvements. The change within the aforementioned devices and appliances and certain legal actions have led to a differentiation on the dangers, threats and risks in laboratories. For dental technicians to be aware of the risks hazards in their working environment, will increase motivation and decrease time and money loss.
