Investigation risk situations for pre-donation blood donors

This research was planned descriptive and retrospective study to identify blood donors risk situations. The research universe was conducted between 2007 and 2008 in Bursa Kızılay from South Marmara Blood Center for all blood donors. The sample for the study was 797 donors. They applied in the Blood Center for blood donor and according to the results of blood donor rejection.Data was evaluated by using SPSS package program in a computer environment. Percentage, mean and Chi-square test were used for statistical analysis.Low hemoglobin, infection disease, risky sexual intercourse and drug use for treatment was found main rejected reason for to be blood donors. Number of male donor found higher than female donor. Low hemoglobin was found the main reason this result. According to blood test HBsAg positivity was found most of blood donors. A positive blood group was found the most group among donors. Educational level was the main reason among rejection of blood donörs.
