Abstract (EN)

Natural and cultural properties belonging to a location have an important role on how many turists visit there. That is the main reason for why the location cultural values are both sources for tourism anda re attractive forces which provide a continuous opportunity fort he people to visit. How ever, today, as a result of inaccurate planning, the deformation of natural and cultural properties is observed; besides, exposed to unplanned urbanization, the areas' utilisation circumstances have some changes. The Peninsula Kapıdağ in Erdek, in Balıkesir, constitues the main material of this study. The field of study is approached totally. The study is carried outby the way of literature scanning, observation, data collection, analyse, determining usage of recreation fields and determining the standards of CORINE land cover at recreation fields. Under the light of gained data, the available area was graded according to its touristic and recreational usage potentials and efficiency levels were determined. In overall asessment tourism and recreation degress that constitutes a %67 rate and which have 55 points in total 81 points are determined to be at medium efficiency considering the relevance between land cover and land usage. Correspondingly, ıt was determined that the highest rate belongs to Forests and Semi-Natural Land with the rate %38.18 and 21 points; however, with 1 point and a %1.82 score, the lowest rate belongs to Wet Lands. The necessary solutions were created by confirming that the farming areas and atrificial surfaces are partially at efficient level; on the contrary, water gatherings are at inefficient level.
