Abstract (EN)

Working area is located at 30 km. southeast of Izmir city and at 15 km. northwestof Torbalı town. Working area includes Karacaağaç, Belenbaşı, Kırıklar, andDemirci villages.1/25.000 scale geological map was made with the method of rock unitsdiscrimination in the sudy area. Stratigraphic, structural, hydrogeological features ofthe rock units and also flow map of the underground water was to determine with the1/25.000 scale geological map.In the study area, Mesozoik aged flysch rock unit, including sandstone-shaleintercalations and as block limestones is observed as the basement rock. Senezoicaged gravelstone and claystone units are overlaying onto the mesezoik rock unitswith angular unconformity contact relation. Alluvium is overlaying all rock unitswith angular unconformity.Flysch occured during upper Cretaceus era as represent the Mesozoik. The uppercreataceus flysch units includes sandstone-shale intercalations and as block limestoneunits.The neoge gravelstone unit, is show common enlargment in the study area,occured mostly gravelstone layers and rarely and localy with as unequalintercalations of sandstones, claystones, and mudstones. The clayey limestone rockunit present in northwest part of study area. It is commonly yellowish white colour,strong structure with undetermined layers. It has mostly often fractures anddissolution cavities.The quaternary aged alluvium, is observed in a lateral topography in thesouthwest part of the study area, occured as continental clastics by river. Thequaternary aged alluvium is not become rigid, and include mix of gravels in differentlargment, sand, silt, and clay.To help to region?s hydrogeological studies were done with various organizationsof chemical water analysis has been done. For this purpose, field work, data collectedthrough program evaluation and interpretation of data was completed. pH andelectrical conductivity measurements were made. For chemical compenents (Na, K,Ca, Mg, Cl, SO4, HCO3 ), and the results show that the necessary diagrams and chartswere prepared.In the study area showing the units aquifer properties; The quaternary agedalluvium unit, the neogene aged gravelstone unit, the clayey limestone and thecretaceous aged limestone unit. The cretaseous aged flysch unit and the neogeneaged clay layers are impermeable rock units. In the study area is suitable for allwater used for agricultural purposes. Used for agricultural purposes and use of waterfrom rainfall volume is met.Keywords : Geology, Stratigraphy, Hydrogeology.
