Karacaören monograph (Başçiftlik district of Tokat province)

This study is the product of the intention and effort of presenting a compilation study carried out in a certain field to the staff. The folk and harsiyât materials presented in the article were compiled from the people of Karacaören neighborhood, which is an old town of Başçiftlik district of Tokat province, in a wide calendar time and under natural conditions. While Karacaören was a village of Mesudiye, Reşadiye and Niksar districts, it is now a neighborhood of Başçiftlik district of Tokat. It is seen that the geography, including Karacaören, is called İskevsür/İskefsür in many written and oral sources. Therefore, this study can be considered as a field review of Iskefsur region. In our study, the sources that could be related to the harsiyât and the people of Karacaören resort were applied and books, magazines, treatises, thesis, audio and video records were also taken into consideration. In the folklore studies of various villages and towns that are thought to be similar in terms of mentality and community structure, it was determined whether many words and phrases were included in the Karacaören oral culture from past to present. The aim of the review is not only to prevent the loss of local harsiyât and folk elements that are dying in the process of urbanization and therefore change and metamorphosis, but to identify and record this material through compilation and to bring it to the treasury of Turkish hars and lore. Our study, history, literature, medicine, economics, law, mathematics or mentality, belief, folk literature, folk medicine, clothing, eating, drinking, housing, etc. in terms of recognizing and understanding the people of the town has various fronts.
