Abstract (EN)
Parasitic diseases in developing countries constitutes a major problem for public health. All over the world that threaten human and animal health of cystic Echinococcosis in Turkey is one of the most important parasitic zoonoses. Conventional surgical methods are applied for many years in the treatment of liver cysts hidatics. Open surgical procedures due to the presence of some complications of percutaneous drainage procedures as an alternative treatment method is encountered.Percutaneous drainage; easy to implement, effective and reliable and significantly reduces the duration of hospital stay is becoming increasingly widespread. Celal Bayar University, Medical Faculty of the study after obtaining the approval of the Board of Ethics; clinic 2001 - 2009 that were operated between the years, but non-recurrent cases, 92 cases were included. Ultrasonography-guided percutaneous drainage of cases of 17 , and it is open to 75 were treated using surgical methods. Total of 92 patients ages ranged from 19-73. Working on two groups of open surgical and percutaneous drainage was planned. In this clinical study, which are important for liver hydatid disease treatment and successfully applied in our clinic open surgery and percutaneous drainage was to compare the effectiveness of treatment methods.Percutaneous drainage and cyst cavities of long-term follow-up of patients who underwent open surgery with the postoperative 6th US and CT months, 1 year, 2 as the year was held. Pouch cyst diameters measured results of follow-up of patients was assessed by repeated analysis of variance test. Long-term (2 years) pouch cyst diameter, 3.2 cm that were treated with percutaneous drainage (p> 0 05), 2:52 cm in the open surgery group (P > 0 05) was measured. There was no significant difference between the two groups. Again, as a result of the second year follow-up of 75 patients who underwent open surgery had recurrence of 3, (3.2%), percutaneous drainage recurrence was observed.Abdominal dissemination was observed in both groups. As a result of percutaneous drainage procedures, and effective in inactivating a reliable method of hydatid cysts. Successful in preventing abdominal dissemination, after the procedure, a reduction in cyst cavity has important consequences.Significantly reduce hospital stay, operative risk to the patient loaded, except for the therapeutic aspect of cosmetically enhance the quality of life, with the ease of application of interventional radiological procedure. Alternative to open surgical operations, in appropriate cases consider that the first method is to be preferred.
