Abstract (EN)
The thesis aims to investigate the stability problems that may occur due to deep splitting excavations on the railway route between Çakmak-Ulukışla Stations Km: 217 + 000-226 + 000, which are being constructed by the State Railways. For this purpose, 3 critical regions were selected from the slope of the thesis subject and slope analysis was done. The lithological units, where the study area is located, consists of the Pliocene aged continental crumbs called Insuyu anda Cihanbeyli Formations in the literature. These lithological units consist mainly of siltstone - marl - clay stone alternation, and on the surface there is a thick clay and silt cover. Shear resistance parameters of different units were determined in selected section lines and slope analysis was done in computer software. After the experiments carried out in the laboratory, the geotechnical properties of the ground were found. According to the project criteria, it is envisaged that the slit slopes will meet the conditions of safety in the static condition> 1.50 and the number of safety in the earthquake condition> 1.10. It has been determined that the slopes of 2/3 (horizontal / vertical) slopes in 3 different regions examined in the scope of the thesis are not stable in both static and earthquake conditions. When the slope angles of the same slopes are improved as 1/1 (horizontal / vertical) and 3/2 (horizontal / vertical), the slopes are stabilized.
