Abstract (EN)

The infections due to gram negative pathogens with extended spectrum beta lactamases and carbapenemases have serious effects especially in hospitalized or immunosuppressive patients in recent years. Carbapenemases are beta lactamases which hydrolysis penicillins, cephalosporines and in different degrees of carbapenems with monobactams. The carbapenemases of Enterobacteriacea family can be classified in Class A, B (metallo beta-lactamases) and D (OXA group). Carbapenemases are a major threat because the strains also have other resistance mechanisms rather than being resistant to all beta lactam antibiotics and carbapenem resistant Enterobacteriacea infections have high mortality rates. There is a limited clinical information about the treatment and prognosis of infections due carbapenem resistant Enterobacteriaceae especially in serious infections with vital importance and also we have limited number of antibiotic choices for treatment. In this study, we aimed to investigate retrospectively the patients with urinary tract infections due to carbapenem resistant Enterobacteriaceae in the terms of demographically, antibiotic sensitivity patterns and clinical features with the endicated treatment options.
