Determination of healthy lifestyle behaviors and health perceptions with self-efficability of patients planned cardiac surgery

Abstract (EN)
Aim : This research, it was planned and implemented in order to examination healthy lifestyle behaviors, perceptions of health and related factors of patients scheduled for cardiac surgery. Materials and Methods : Open heart, valve, fistula, etc. were included in the study in Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic. 194 patients who were scheduled for surgical intervention participated. Research data were obtained by using the "Patient Descriptive Information Form", "Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale", "Health Perception Scale", "Barnason Effectiveness Expectation Scale - Cardiac Surgery Version". In the analysis of the data, frequency, percentage distribution, independent two-sample t test, Mann-Whitney U Test, paired t test, Wilcoxon signed rank test, ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis H test and Spearman correlation analysis tests were used in the SPSS 21.0 program. Findings : The results were determined by the education level of the healthy lifestyle (F=6.06), the health perception by education level (F=7.71), smoking status (F=4.96), place of birth (F=3.79), occupation (F=4.01), showed that it differed significantly according to chronic disease (t=-2.18) and disease experience (t=-2.19). Preoperative self-efficacy total scores were also determined by educational status (F=3.78), preoperative information (t=2.30), age (F=4.33), marital status (t=2.72), number of children (F=2.59), previous It was found that there was a significant difference according to the state of being operated (t=-2.47) and the preoperative appetite (t=3.57). Postoperative self-efficacy total scores were found to differ significantly according to the place where they lived for the longest time (t=2.21) and education level (F=5.38). It was also observed that the preoperative and postoperative self-efficacy total scores differed significantly (t=-11.61) and the postoperative self-efficacy scores were significantly higher than preoperatively (all p's < 05). Conclusion :It was determined that healthy lifestyle behaviors and inadequacies in health perception and low self-efficacy of heart patients who came to the surgical planning stage showed a change after surgery.
