Effect of cardio-pilates exercises on some physical fitness parameters, physical activity level, quality of life, job satisfaction and happiness in office workers

Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to examine the effects of cardio-pilates exercises on some physical fitneSs elements, physical activity level, quality of life, job satisfaction and happineSs in office workers. The sample of the study was determined by convenience sampling method. The sample group for this study was selected from academic and administrative female staff working at Bursa Technical University. 34 women participated in the study volutarily. Online cardio-pilates exercises were applied to the experimental group participants for 8 weeks, 3 days a week for 1 hour, using the Microsoft teams program. Physical activity levels, height, body weight, anthropometric circumferences, body fat percentage, muscle maSs, balance, flexibility, aerobic fitneSs, resting heart rate and anaerobic power of the all participants were measured before and after the 8-week period. In addition, Minnesota job satisfaction scale, Oxford happineSs scale, World health organization quality of life scale short form were applied to all participants before and after the 8-week period. All the data obtained from the research were analyzed in the SPSS (version 26.0) program. The Shapiro-Wilk test was used to determine whether the data were in accordance with the normal distribution. Paired t-test was used for in-group comparison of parametric variables, and Wilcoxon test was used for in-group comparison of non-parametric distributed variables. Independent Sample t-test was used for the comparison of parametric variables between groups, and the Mann-Whitney U test was used for intergroup comparisons of non-parametric variables. Pearson correlation test was used to examine the relationships between the variables. The regreSsion test was used to look at the effect between the variables. As a result, it has been seen that cardio-pilates exercises have a positive effect on the physical activity levels and some physical fitneSs parameters of sedentary women aged 20-55.
