Özet (EN)

Aim: To determine the compliance of the applications with the ERAS protocol in patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery and to determine the; It was applied to evaluate the effect of patient outcomes on postoperative recovery, pain, sleep quality, and self-efficacy. Materials and Methods: Patients (n=100) who had surgery in the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital between September 2021 and December 2021 were included in the study. Research data were obtained using the "Patient Information Form", "Patient Follow-up Form", "ERAS Protocol Form", "Post-Operative Recovery Index", "Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index", "Barnason Efficacy Expectation Scale Cardiac Surgery Version". The difference between demographic characteristics and scale mean scores was evaluated using the Kolmogorov-smirnov normality test, and the student t test, one-way analysis of variance in data with normal distribution, and the Kruskall Wallis test and Mann Whitney U test in data that did not show normal distribution. Pearson and Spearman correlation analysis according to normal distribution was used to analyze the correlation between the scales. Findings: The average age of the patients participating in the study was 54% over 63 years old, 72% male, 96% previously hospitalized, 89% previously operated, 98% chronic disease and 90% regular users. It was determined that it was a drug, 58% smoked, and 81% did not use alcohol. A negative correlation was found between the ERAS protocol form and the postoperative recovery index. It was determined that there was no significant correlation between the patients' ERAS protocol form and self-efficacy, Pittsburgh sleep quality index, and pain score. Conclusion: It was found that compliance with the ERAS protocol in clinical practices affected postoperative recovery, but did not affect self-efficacy, sleep quality and pain. In line with these results, it can be said that the postoperative recovery becomes easier as the compliance of the applications with the ERAS protocol increases. It is recommended to provide standardized care according to the ERAS protocol in clinics. Keywords: ERAS protocol, cardiovascular surgery, nursing
