The effect of career capital and employability on job insecurity

In recent years, job insecurity which becomes prevalent because of the changes in labour market and the replacement of career understanding which implies to belonging to definite company with new career understanding which gives an important responsibility to individuals are parallel developments. These developments requires to take more individual responsibility, to obtain more resources which is used for to direct career and to improve career success and to increase employability and in this way to cope with job insecurity. In this study which aimed at determining the effects of career capital and employability level of individual on job insecurity and interrogate whether the individuals is ready for to change job in new career structure, firstly career capital as a resource which is effective in directing the individual?s career and in improving the career success is examined with whole components. Than, the concept of employability which becomes an important concept due to the individual responsibility of career is analyzed in terms of the capacity of continuing the present job and finding new job. Lastly, job insecurity which is affected by the level of career capital and employability is explained with details. The theoretical relationships which concerning about the effects of career capital and employability are analyzed and tried to support with empirical study which have a sample with white-color employees. In the frame of the hypothesized models which are utilized from structural equation modeling, it is determined that the components of career capital and employability orientation decreases the quantitative job insecurity and increases the qualitative job insecurity.
