Social and cultural research on mixed-use houses: The case of Ağaoğlu 1453

In today's world, because of the cultural interaction that exists on the scale of society, socio-spatial differentiations, and the attitudes of the entrepreneurs in the housing structure and construction process, residences have gained a new identity due to the income and lifestyle differences brought about by age and income level. Mixed-use housing was oriented toward cultural interaction and political influences. Today, human cognition has begun to take shape with political attitudes and architectural products. In this context, this thesis dwells upon an important example and researches whether the result meets the social and cultural expectations of users by dwelling on the case of Ağaoğlu 1453, Ayazağa. It examines whether the main priority of architecture user expectations are met in this settlement, and demonstrates that gated communities contradict their purpose. At the same time, the benefits or harms that Ağaoğlu 1453 causes to the environment and the immediate environment where it is located were examined and its interactions with people were emphasized. It has been concluded that the 1453 complex's aesthetic, architectural values and neighbourly relations are weak; it is typologically inadequate, but the idea that it brings status gain and respectability thanks to the income level has been concluded, and it has been concluded also that it eventually increases the gap between low-income and high-income decients.
