Abstract (EN)

As a result of rapid industrialization and consumption, demand on variant type of productsincreases day by day. In addition to this, period to reach the product is expected to beextremely short. As a result of this expectation, develeopment in production systems wasinevitable: Automation based production system, started yet in the middle of the last century, has expanded and changed into optimization era. And ?robotics? era, decreasing investmentcosts by increasing productivity, has started revolution.Besides increasing the amount of production, robots increase the quality and by the way, morehuman friendly working conditions are obtained.Industrialization by the robots, decrease the worker?s pay. Meanwhile it provides a worldwideproduction rate and 24 hours uninterrupted production. As an example, welding safety inautomative industry using welding robots, is in international standarts. In this thesis, production of a computer controlled, cartesian welding robot is studied. Phasesof the production, control mechanism and consistence of the welding robot realized after allthese phases is also examined. Keywords: Cartesian Welding Robot, arc welding, welding, cartesian, step motor.xii
